The Nete River

The Nete is a picturesque river in the Belgian province of Antwerp that consists of two branches, the Grote Nete and the Kleine Nete. From the city of Lier, the merged Nete flows through a varied and attractive landscape characterised by its rich nature and peaceful atmosphere.

Along the Nete you will find several protected nature reserves. The area around Anderstad, just outside Lier, is an important marsh and meadow bird area.
