Kalmthoutse Heide

Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide is located on both sides of the Belgian-Dutch border and covers about 60 km². It is a varied nature reserve consisting of heathland, fens, shifting dunes, meadows, forests and polders and with a variety of plants and animals. The enormous diversity of this beautiful piece of nature is of considerable ecological and cultural-historical value. Not surprisingly, Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide is part of the Natura-2000 network, which provides sustainable protection for the most important natural areas throughout Europe.
